Course Description

This course of instructions prepares individuals for entry-level jobs as a dental assistant. Graduates after completing the course and the required exam for a license may find suitable employment with a dental office. Students will learn about dental assisting to prepare them for the workforce.

The approximate time required to complete the Dental Assisting Program is 12-13 weeks. Students will spend 69 hours in Lecture and 71 hours in Lab with a total of 140 hours of lecture and lab and 40 hours of Externship with a total of 180 hours.

 

Course Length

13 weeks with 140 hours in a class setting with lab. 40 hours of an externship and must be completed by the last scheduled Saturday class.

Registered Dental Assisting Mandatory Course

Effective September 1, 2016, to apply to become a registered dental assistant, a student must complete a mandatory short course approved by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE). An approved provider list can be found on the TSBDE website: https://tsbde.texas.gov
By law, a dental assistant must be registered with the TSBDE in order to take x-rays at a dentist’s office. The school will pay for one Texas State Dental Board Examiners Registration exam for dental assistants provided the exam is scheduled through the school with an approved provider.

Saturday, 9 AM – 5 PM

Daily Class Schedule

Thursday classes will be 6pm-10pm and Saturday classes will be 8am-6pm. Class for CPR and Emergency Care will be determined.

All classes will have a 10 minute break taken at the last ten minutes of each hour. Lunch for day classes will be from 12-1 or 1-2 and for evening classes there will be no mealtime.

In the event that a class falls on one of the days listed above we will have make-up classes on a Thursday evening from 6pm-10pm or on a Friday when class is not in session from 6pm-10pm.

Payment Details and Schedules

  • Requirements for class registration:
    1) $1,000.00 Registration and deposit is due when signing student enrollment agreement.
    2) A completed online application
    3) Copy of driver license
    4) High school diploma or GED
  • $3,000.00 is due at the beginning of the 1st Saturady class

Total Payment in full = $4,000.00
LATE PAYMENT SUBJECT TO A $25.00 LATE FEE

Optional payment plan is as follows

  • $1,325.00 Due at the beginning of the first Saturday class
  • $1,325.00 Due at the beginning of the sixth Saturday class
  • $600 Due at the beginning of the tenth Saturday class

Total Payment for optional payment plan is $4,250.00
If more than one credit card is used a 3% fee will apply.

Any holder on this consumer credit contract is subject to all claims and defenses which the debtor could assert against the seller of goods or services obtained pursuant hereto or with the proceeds hereof.  Recovery hereunder by the debtor shall not exceed the amounts paid by the debtor hereunder.

Admission Requirements for Cypress Dental Assisting School

Individuals applying for this course are required to:

  • Interview with the director or instructor
  • Be at least 17 years of age or written or guardian permission
  • Have a high school diploma or GED certificate
  • Completion of an enrollment agreement and ether required documentation.
  • Complete the Cypress Dental Assisting School Application

Cancellation Policy

A full refund will be made to any student who cancels the enrollment contract within 72 hours (until midnight of the third day excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and federal holidays) after the enrollment contract is signed. A full refund will also be made to any student who cancels enrollment within the student’s first three scheduled class days, except that the school may retain not more than $100.00 in any administrative fees charged, as well as items of extra expense that are necessary for the portion of the program attended and stated separately on the enrollment agreement.
